Brexit and franchising – NIC challenge the status quo and ask if franchising could be the answer to the uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
Is it just me or are there many others out there who are getting fed up of hearing about Brexit?
If you listen to what people are saying, pay attention to the numerous news bulletins and read many of the opinion pieces and articles, come April 2019 the world will stop turning, the lights will go out and businesses will shut down.
Possibly a little extreme but what this seems to be doing is knocking the confidence of businesses who are attempting to plan for uncertain times. This uncertainty creates many challenges – Challenges that are standing in the way of those who are actively looking to create a strategic plan for moving forward in the short, medium and long term.
At this point and with this uncertainty in mind, why would anybody looking to start their own business or invest in a franchise even consider it a viable option?
For sure, there is a risk but if you take a closer look at some of the exciting statistics relating to franchising in the UK, you may just reconsider. You may just take a step back and realise a decision on self-employment is actually a very lucrative one.
For a start, franchising with the right provider will allow you to take control of both your lifestyle and your earnings, whilst benefiting from the securities that an industry like ours provides. The commercial cleaning industry is worth over £8.8bn per annum and its virtually recession-proof. More on that here.
In the UK there are over 44,000 franchise businesses employing some 600,000 people.
There are over 900 franchise concepts available in the UK, covering every conceivable industry and service. Franchising is no longer about small businesses, over 50% of franchise businesses turnover in excess of £250,000 a year.
Franchising generates over £15bn to the UK economy. It is not a small industry.
Talking of risk, over 90% of franchisees, supported by their franchisor, are profitable in their first 2 years, compared to a high failure rate amongst those that start their own business, void of that kind of support.
As you can see, there is minimal risk when you are part of a franchise business. You will be fully supported by a franchisor, who not only have a vested interest in your success but carry many years of experience within their sector.
We are very fortunate at NIC Services Group that we have over 50 years of industry experience and are well into our second decade of franchising. This has allowed us to build a proven operational method for our growing network of franchisees.
Our management franchisees operate in the commercial cleaning and support services industry, an industry that is not affected by the economy or seasonal influences. It goes without saying that every commercial building requires cleaning, and generally that cleaning will take place every day.
Just imagine the opportunities that this represents for those individuals who are motivated and energetic enough to see their business in the £8.8bn sector succeed. It opens-up a chance to truly take control of theirs and their family’s future, unlike any other business opportunity.
At the end of the day, where NIC, our franchisees and prospects are concerned, it doesn’t really matter what the final negotiations of a Brexit deal are. Our management franchise opportunities are still valued by the demand that commercial premises have for cleaning and that demand is massive.
Our franchisees will continue to grow their businesses and our network will continue to attract motivated individuals, pre, during and post-Brexit. Individuals who can see the true potential in an NIC management franchise.
You never know, you may be the next NIC Franchisee turning over in excess of £1million a year. Successful franchisees aren’t hard to come by and ours are open in expressing their joy in making that step into self-employment and self-empowerment. Our testimonials are forever increasing and can go a long way in helping someone in a similar position to yours make the right decision.
If you would like to have a discussion on NIC’s management franchise opportunities or would like an informal chat about franchising in the UK and how you go about selecting the right one for you, why not give me a call, I would welcome the opportunity to chat with you.
