Managing a franchise is about being your own boss. It’s flexibility on working hours, and being rewarded for your own time and efforts. The potential rewards of franchising are huge, but admittedly, there are potential risks. It can be a daunting initial investment and that’s why it’s so important to feel comfortable with the industry you’re going into and the franchise you’ll be investing in. Being in commercial cleaning, NIC is lucky that our franchisees don’t have to navigate many of the risks a lot of others do. It’s a huge £8.8bn industry that always has room for growing businesses. It’s virtually recession proof so your investment is as safe as it can be. If you’re looking to get into franchising, the best way to put your mind at ease is to come and talk to people who know what they’re talking about.
Peace of Mind – The National Franchise Exhibition. 13-14 Oct 2017
In a month’s time, Birmingham’s NEC is hosting the National Franchise Exhibition, a franchising event packed with over a hundred businesses trying to tempt you into their ever more lucrative worlds. It’s one of the only exhibitions in the country that ensures all businesses are BFA accredited, so a lot of the major franchisors will be there. For anyone interested in franchising, it’s the best way to discover if any of these opportunities are for you.
As far as I’m concerned, meeting motivated and driven individuals and discussing the potential of new NIC businesses is one of the most enjoyable parts of my job. It’s not a case of trying to sell you anything. It’s having an honest conversation and finding out whether an NIC franchise is right for you. Don’t forget, we’re looking for committed, motivated franchisees as much as you’re looking for a profitable business that will improve your lifestyle. It goes both ways.
In my experience, having a productive early conversation separates those who are serious about franchising from the rest. It’s the people who came along and asked me 101 questions at an exhibition or in a face to face meeting who are now running their own successful businesses and in control of their future.
Even if you’re not interested in a cleaning franchise (though, here’s why you should be), the Exhibition is a hub of free information and insight. There are over 60 free seminars from experts with presentations, workshops and Q&A sessions, including two seminars of my own entitled Franchise Investment – It’s all about a safe pair of hands. These will run on both days in Seminar Theatre 3 between 12:00 and 12:30. This is where I’ll go into further detail on the benefits of a cleaning franchise and how to make the most of your investment.
Don’t underestimate the importance of a face to face meeting early in your entrepreneurial journey. You can get all your ambition, and any unease, off your chest, and I’ll do my best to make you fully understand the industry and the true benefits in investing in a franchise.
