Matthew Sammons, a franchisee in the North East has found great success with an NIC cleaning franchise. Through his background in the nightclub industry where he had previously worked for 10 years he identified a gap in the market in this sector.
He says: “I’d never found a successful contract cleaning company. Lots of people came in with fantastic presentations and didn’t do what they said that they were going to do. I saw a gap in the market there.” He decided on the business mantra: ‘I will do what I say I can do!’ and since has “carried that out successfully because I know where the gaps in the market are.”
Matthew decided to fill this need for an efficient, high-quality contract cleaning service through franchising. “I decided to become my own boss because I wanted to get a better lifestyle, to be able to pick and choose when I work and I wanted to reap the benefits. I didn’t want to work for a company where I work really hard for them and they get all the rewards – I wanted to see the financial benefits myself,” he confirms.
Franchising, and with NIC, was the obvious route forward. “I found that the best way to do that was to try and get the best of both worlds.”

Matthew describes the training he received as being: “absolutely crucial; very very intense but extremely enjoyable”.
