“I’ve Been Part of the NIC Family for 18 Years”

Hi, I’m Jo! I’ve been the General Manager at NIC Local for over four years, but my journey with the company goes back nearly two decades.

I first joined NIC as a franchisee, where I poured my heart into growing a successful business. Later, when life called for a change, NIC supported me in selling my franchise, and I transitioned to the support office team. From Business Development Manager to General Manager, my role has evolved, but my commitment to franchisee success has never wavered.

No two days in my role are alike—and that’s exactly how I like it! Whether I’m strategising in the office or hitting the road to meet franchisees, every task is focused on one goal: ensuring our franchisees thrive.

Sharing My Expertise with Franchisees

While my title is General Manager, I stay deeply connected with franchisees, especially our largest ones. I provide one-on-one support, helping them overcome challenges and guiding them to seize new opportunities.

Having owned and operated an NIC franchise myself, I know the highs, the hurdles, and the hard work involved. This real-world experience lets me offer advice that’s practical, actionable, and tailored to their unique needs.

Building Relationships from Day One

I believe the foundation of success is built early. That’s why I’m involved in our franchise discovery days and initial training sessions. Meeting franchisees at the start of their journey helps us form strong, trusting relationships that fuel long-term growth.

From there, I stay in close contact, checking in monthly with new franchisees and regularly meeting with more established ones. These sessions are about much more than ticking boxes. They’re about ensuring compliance, boosting profitability, driving sales, and supporting franchisees in every way possible.

Providing Hands-On Support Where It Matters

From navigating tenders to mastering financials, I work closely with franchisees to ensure they’re equipped for success. A significant part of my role involves compliance helping franchisees and our Business Development Managers stay on track while maximising opportunities.

Some days are more unique, like supporting franchise exhibitions or guiding franchise resales. With nearly 20 years of experience, I’m always ready to lend a hand wherever it’s needed!
