We are happy to share fantastic news from one of NIC Local’s longest-serving franchisees.
Matthew Sammons, an NIC Local Regional Director in the Northeast, has been with us since 2011.
In that time, he has grown his business to an annual turnover of approximately £2.7 million and employs approximately 200 staff members.
That revenue has been gradually built up through 120 commercial cleaning contracts, and now he has one more to add to the list.
Inside Matthew’s significant new educational commercial cleaning contract
Matthew’s franchise has recently confirmed a new contract with the Pele Trust, a family of schools working together across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
It is a significant multi-year agreement, underscoring Matthew’s franchise’s capability and reliability in the education sector.
The contract will see Matthew deploying a dedicated team of cleaners to ensure the schools within the Pele Trust receive regular and thorough cleaning services.
The frequency and specific details of the cleaning schedule are tailored to meet the needs of each school, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
Matthew said about the new contract win, “We are thrilled to partner with the Pele Trust. This collaboration reflects our commitment to providing exceptional cleaning services tailored to the unique needs of educational institutions.
“Our team is dedicated to maintaining a clean and healthy environment that supports the educational mission of the schools within the trust.
“We have become a trusted provider of school cleaning services, with all our contracts built on word of mouth. Our commitment to quality and reliability has been the cornerstone of our growth, and we are proud to serve 25 schools in and around Newcastle.”

The NIC Local franchise team, including Matthew’s dedicated business development manager, were crucial in securing the Pele Trust contract.
“They provided invaluable support in understanding the Trust’s specific requirements and helped tailor the proposal to meet those needs effectively,” explains Matthew.
“Their expertise and guidance were instrumental in demonstrating our capability and reliability as a trusted cleaning provider.
“Additionally, collaboration and support from within the NIC Local network, including insights from other franchisees, have been vital in refining our approach and ensuring success in competitive tenders.”
